    Pinhoti Trail Hike Heflin, Alabama

Plus, you get to see beautiful parts of the country that you wouldn’t get to see from traveling the roadway! This last week we traveled to the Talladega National Forest and hiked part of the Pinhoti Trail near Heflin, Alabama. I say part of because the trail itself is part of the Southern Appalachian long distance hiking trail. The trail we hiked was 5 miles of the full 335 mile trail! Adams Canyon, Utah

While in beautiful Utah we took our first family hike on a trail called The Adams Canyon Trail.   What we thought was going to be a 3 hour 3.5 mile there and back trail ended up being a 6 hour 7 mile trail there and back. The trail was pretty strenuous and a little scary in spots… there were sharp drop offs and steep, rocky climbs… both up and down the mountain. Overall we really enjoyed the hike and beautiful scenery. The next day Patrick and I were super sore, but the kids were hopping around just fine. We can’t wait to do some more trails!
