RV Park Review

We stayed here  while I was working at the former US Army Base Fort McClellan, Alabama. This campground is broken down into two areas. Short term spots are located near the entrance and long term spots are located at the rear of the property. A small creek separates the property between long and short term areas. The park hosts Judy and Billie keep the park running smoothly and the landscaping looking great. Following inclement weather days, Billie wasted no time in bringing the park back to tip top shape.

The RV park boasts over 70 angled pull through sites that can fit rigs up to 90 feet in length and several back in sites along the property lines. Our site was gravel and was slightly unlevel, but I was able to block it up with two Lynx Levelers and it remained level throughout our stay. Most of the sites boast a small concrete slab with a picnic table and a fire ring.

Since we home school our children and Jennifer blogs full time, we rely heavily on the internet. We currently are on the Sprint Network and we were at full 4g service throughout the park. For those of you who are on other cell networks, check out OpenSignal.Com for their Cell Phone Signal Heat Map. With our cell phones, we were able to hit peak speeds over 2mbps and averaged around 1mbps.  The RV park boasts wifi, but at times it was spotty and we had to call the office to have them reset the router. We could easily stream Netflix on both our Sprint phones and the RV park WIFI without any additional need of a signal booster.

The RV park has cable TV with approximately 25 channels at all the sites. The cable has locals channels and some sports channels, but lacks a movie package such as HBO or Showtime. The small pet run is conveniently located near the creek and has adequate fencing for even large dogs. There is a small fenced in playground with the usual swing and slide setup, but it is primarily geared toward children between the ages of 5 and 8.

Check out our summer visit or the follow up fall visit to Mt. Cheaha State Park, Alabama.
